The Havering Black and Minority Ethnic Group exists to achieve the following:
- Promote equality of opportunity and good race relations between persons of different racial and ethnic groups.
- The provision and maintenance of a resource for the ethnic minority voluntary sector, including the provision of training, advice and support.
- Facilitating partnership and co-operation in the voluntary sector.
We facilitate the development of more effective communication, consultation and participation on the development of policies, strategies and services and the communication between the Ethnic Minority Community and Havering Council.
- Be a focal point for service providers and departments within the - Council, when they wish to consult about their services.
- We engage with other groups and New communities in Havering to assist in creating their own organisation and engagement with other groups and the statutory bodies
