Residents who want to help keep Islington's streets greener, cleaner and safer can do so by signing up to the Eyes for Islington scheme. Eyes members act as the eyes and ears of the borough and report issues such as dangerous footpaths, abandoned vehicles and crime hotspots. As soon as the Council receives a report from an Eye, it responds to the problem as soon as possible. The scheme was launched at the beginning of 2003, and now has approximately 1,000 volunteers from all over the borough.
Meetings are held from time to time and Eyes receive a newsletter from time to time. Becoming an Eye is very simple. All we need from you is your address and contact details and we will do the rest. Please contact Fatma Mehmet for more information.
