Croydon LINk

The Croydon LINk is one of many networks across the country set up by government legislation to help bring about genuine changes to health and social care services through the active involvement of local people and groups.

Croydon LINk is an independent network made up of a mixture of both local individuals and organisations such as voluntary organisations and community groups. We are responsible for finding out what people want from their health and care services such as hospitals, GPs, care homes and pharmacists. We are also responsible for monitoring the care that services provide and reporting their findings.

Croydon LINk has legal powers to:

1. enter and view specific types of premises where services and care are provided
2. ask for information and get a response within a specific timescale
3. make recommendations and get a response within a specific timescale
4. refer matters to the local Overview and Scrutiny Committee and get a response.

There are many ways for you to get involved in our work. This can range from giving your views to volunteering your time to visiting a hospital ward. Input from everyone is welcomed. If you have the time you can become involved in a steering group or 'working group' for the LINk. If your time is restricted you can still participate by becoming involved in specific debates and decisions that you are personally interested in. You can give as much or as little time as you want, and you can even get involved in 'one off' issues if you wish.
